Chairperson of the Voluntary Support Scheme honoured by the Queen One of our highlights this year was hearing that Sue Larg, our Chair, had been awarded the MBE in the New Year honours, for her service in the field of mental health. We are very proud of Sue, who very much deserves the award. Sue was one of the small group of people that set up the Voluntary Support Scheme, and she has worked tirelessly over the past 16 years to keep the organisation thriving. Sue has also been instrumental in setting up several other organisations in Mid Devon, which, together have helped hundreds of people to enjoy better mental health. Sue duly went to Windsor Castle to receive her honour from Her Majesty the Queen, and even managed to mention the current financial plight of many small charities to the Her Majesty.
